Learning A* Pathfinding

I am currently learning how to implement A* pathfinding into my platformer game. As I’ve learned so far, A* uses an algorithm to find the shortest path to the target (the end node). What I want to do is to implement movement mechanics into the algorithm to create the best path to the target. There are some tutorials out there that do this effectively such as:

Or

Currently my goal is to fully understand A* before implementing these methods. Sebastian Lague has some great tutorials for understanding A* pathfinding and demonstrates it well using Unity3D. He also does other videos about game development. Here’s a link to his Youtube channel : https://www.youtube.com/user/Cercopithecan
